The Pavilion is parametrically-designed public space project aiming to mobilize the community of 23 Chekhov street, a Yerevan backstreet yard located in the 3rd District.

With its dynamic form, metallic appearance, and design to implementation processes, the pavilion is put in complete contrast to the surrounding elements and local context.

Architecture surrounding 23 Chekhov is comprised of some of the very first buildings of the constructionist movement in Yerevan. Today, unfortunately these culturally significant buildings do not receive the care and attention they deserve. By our intervention, we hope to contribute to the revitalization of the yard and to shift the public’s attention from the city center to the more “underrated” areas of the city.

Rethink Pavilion is realized within the “Rethinking Public Spaces” program of UNDP.
